The Espanola Express held their annual Teddy Bear Toss this past Friday during a game with the Rayside-Balfour Canadians. The Express partnered with the Espanola Lions Club for this great annual initiative and club management feels it was a great success.
“When you have the opportunity to get together as a hockey community and help those in need during the holidays is what junior hockey is all about,” claimed Express GM Chad Clarke.
The Express and the Lions Club collected over 90 teddy bears that were thrown onto the ice during the game and they will all be distributed to local youth over the holidays.
“knowing that over 90 local children will be unwrapping teddy bears this Christmas because of the generosity of our great fans is overwhelming,” added Clarke.
