New head Coach for the Express

Press Release

Espanola, On.

The Espanola Express are proud to announce the team has hired a new Head Coach for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Taking over as bench boss will be Sudbury native, veteran Coach Dave Clancy. With well over 25 years coaching experience, Coach Clancy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. With CIS USport level coaching at Laurentian University, Clancy also has spent time scouting for the OHL Sudbury Wolves and boasts a NOJHL coaching record of 202-138-26, with 2 NOJHL league championships and NOJHL 2nd team all star Head Coach accolades. Coach Clancy spent parts of the past 2 seasons with the NOJHL’s Rayside Balfour Canadians, a close rival of the Espanola Express.

General Manager Chad Clarke had this to say about Coach Clancy joining the team. “We are excited to get a guy with the high level experience and track record of success that Coach Clancy will bring to our organization,”

“I feel Coach Clancy will be a great addition to our program, strengthening in a big way our recruiting, on ice structure and overall dressing room culture. His attention to detail with team systems and special teams will definitely strengthen our on ice structure, something the team has done very poorly over the past 3 seasons.”

Stay tuned here as the Express have more big staff and player announcements to come shortly, as they continue to dot the I’s and cross the T’s and progress with the remodeling of the team.
