Express participate in a Hockey skills competition at Massey winter carnival

On a warm February afternoon the Espanola Express travelled 20 minutes west on highway 17 to the community of Massey to take part in their winter carnival. Massey minor hockey planned and created a great 2 hour event that showcased local youth hockey skills for all ages and the Express were very excited to take part in the event. Children as young as 4 and 5 years old, all the way up to the Express 20 year olds enjoyed 6 skill competitions in front of local fans who attended the carnival event. The Express players and staff felt the event was an incredible success as approximately 25-30 local youth joined the junior A hockey team on the ice and laughter and cheering were heard throughout the event. After all the skill events were complete all the players participated in a fun filled scrimage game and there were plenty of smiles as the youth played with the Express players. The Express would like to thank all the local volunteers and Massey minor hockey for planning such a fun filled afternoon and the Express players are already talking about next years event.
