Express add experience to coaching staff

The Espanola Express are proud to announce the appointment of new Associate Coach Dennis Martindale to their coaching staff. Dennis brings an extensive amount of experience at multiple ranks to the Express club. “Coach Dennis has played at several levels in his career as a hockey player”, stated General Manager Chad Clarke. “He has played high level hockey, from Junior A in the Maritime League to C.I.S. for Moncton University and then he went on to play and coach Pro Hockey for 12 more years in France and Germany”, added Clarke.

Coach Dennis has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the game, as it has been his life and career to date. He has had great success as a high end scoring forward in the pro ranks in Europe as well as 6 years of coaching experience at the junior and senior levels. Coach Martindale has experience coaching in the highest level junior league in France as a Head Coach, as well as coaching junior and senior programs in Germany.

Dennis started his junior “A” career playing for Amhearst, Campbellton and Moncton in the Maritimes Junior Hockey League from 1999-2001. Coach Martindale then went on to play C.I.S. for the University of Moncton. He then made the move to go play pro hockey in France for the next 5 years, where he was named Head Coach/player of the U22 top league in France in 2007. His next 7 years would be spent in Germany as a player/coach from 2009 till the beginning of this season when he decided to return to Canada and continue his coaching career in the CJHL with the Express.

Coach Martindale has 4 years experience as a Head Coach and 2 years experience as an Associate Coach during his tenure in Europe and now brings those skills to help The Express players develop and achieve their dreams and goals, as most of the Express players will look to follow his footsteps for their own careers.

“To add the experience Coach Martindale brings will definately make us a stronger club immediately and he has already had a positive impact here”, commented Director of Operations Randy Blake. “He is a great compliment to bench boss Jason Rapcewicz, they make a great tandem behind the bench for us and we expect great things from these two”, added Blake.
