Express add 2 big players

Espanola, On.

Press Release

The Espanola Express have added  size with two new players who hail from Sudbury On.

The first Express addition is a gritty and hard hitting, hard to find right handed shot defenceman, who spent last season with the North Central Predators Midget AAA program based in Orillia, On. Patrick Musico is a young, strong defenceman standing at 6’2″ and 190lbs.  He uses his big frame to his advantage and plays a fast, physical defensive game very well. With the addition of Musico the Express immediately become a tougher team to play against and opponents will remember their encounters with him in the corners and in front of the net. Patrick was a stand out at the Express spring tryout camp as staff and management quickly became excited about him playing in Espanola this year and improving their defensive core.

“We are very excited for Patrick to be joining our team this year,” stated head Coach McCarthy.

“Patrick will make an immediate impact on our blueline and continue to get bigger and stronger over the years as we expect him to become a league leading defenceman in the years to come,” added McCarthy

The Express have also added some scoring punch with the signing of a scoring power forward, Keegan Gillis-Mcanulty. He is another very big body who is capable of putting alot of points up on the board. Standing at 6’2″ and 190lbs., this big framed forward will be an offensive threat every time he is in the opponents end. Last season Keegan posted 36 goals, 22 assists for 58 points in 27 games. Averaging over a point per game  with the Copper Cliff Redmen min. Midget team, based in Sudbury. Keegan is expected to pick up where he left off with the Express as last season he played 4 games with the Express as an A.P. and he did incredibly well, getting regular shifts and fit right in, never looking out of place.

“Keegan is big and strong, he has a knack for getting the puck down low and finishing,” Praised Express co-coach Rapcewicz.

“We believe he will quickly become a fan favourite in Espanola with his style of play,” added Rapcewicz.
