Espanola’s King crowns Blind River with 4-goal night

BLIND RIVER, Ont. – Espanola Express forward Tyler King had a career-high four goals helping his side steam past the Blind River Beavers 9-1 Saturday in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League play Saturday at the Blind River Community Centre.

King kicked off the offensive barrage for the Express by notching the first two tallies of the contest.

After Jason Uhl got Blind River on the board at 11:56, King finished off a first period hat trick at 14:02.

Aaron Roschinsky then made it 4-1 later in the frame.

Espanola tacked on two more in the middle session to go up by five through 40 minutes as Patrick Smith and Cameron Anklewich, via the power play, accounted for the markers.

A trio of power play tallies in the third allowed the visitors to complete the romp with Charlie Venedam, King and Dominik Laverge all finding the back of the net to round out the scoring.

Anklewich also doled out three assists for a four-point night while Venedam, Joel Grandbois and Shane Snow had two helpers apiece for the winning side.

Kevin Labelle made 22 saves in picking up the win for the Express.

Matt Blattenberger suffered the loss allowing four on 18 shots while Martin Miloslavich turned aside 25 of 30 in a long relief stint for the Beavers.
