Brisson Boards The Express

By Grant Trayner:

ESPANOLA, ON – The Espanola Express announce the signing of right handed defenceman Robert Brisson from Embrun, Ontario.

Brisson split last season with the Rayside-Balfour Canadians of the NOJHL and the North Bay Trappers Midget AAA of the Great North Midget League. With Rayside he had one assist in 16 games played and with the Trappers in 16 games he scored twice and added helpers on five other goals.

With the Trappers he helped guide them to a combined regular season and playoff record of 42-0 en route to the GNML championship and birth in the Central Region Telus Cup Qualifying Tournament. Brisson and the Trappers came one game short of qualifying for the national championship losing in the finals to the eventual Telus Cup champions Toronto Young Nationals Midget AAA.

Brisson will add size and physicality to the Express lineup as he stands at 6’3 and weights 200 lbs. This past May he was an attendee of the North Bay Battalion Orientation Camp of the Ontario Hockey League.
