ESPANOLA, ONTARIO – On Saturday April 6th Espanola Express affiliate player Cameron Walker got drafted in to the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) by the Kingston Frontenacs in the 9th round 174th overall.

Walker becomes the first affiliate player in Espanola Express history to get selected in the OHL Priority Selection. In three games played with the Express the Sudbury, Ontario native had one assist and a minor penalty.

Walker represented the Northern Ontario Hockey Association at the OHL Cup in March in the Greater Toronto Area which is the most heavily scouted minor midget event during the hockey season. He was one of twelve players from the NOHA selected in the draft which had 15 rounds and 303 players selected. The Express would like to congratulate Walker on this achievement in his young hockey career.

With his club team the Sudbury Minor Midget “AAA” Wolves, Walker was coached by former Espanola Express Assistant Coach Vagelli Sakarellis. With the club Walker was a leader as an Assistant Captain.

On May 11th and 12th the Express are hosting a Spring Camp at the Gerald McCrory Countryside Sports Complex. This Camp is open to players born between the years 1999 to 2003. The cost to attend the camp is $150.00 CAD. Please visit our web page www.www.espanolapaperkings.com for more details.
