Express win 2nd straight with triumph over Rapids

ESPANOLA, Ont. – The Espanola Express got a couple of goals from Martin Lavigne along with a tally and two assists courtesy of Aaron Roschinsky to help them derail the French River Rapids 6-2 Sunday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League match-up at the Regional Recreation Complex.

It was all Express in the opening 20 minutes as they stormed out to a 3-0 lead on markers by Roschchinsky, Jason Bednarski and Riley Smith.

French River battled back in the second stanza to pull within one on efforts supplied Caleb Rich and Gregory Trudeau-Paquet before the session was halfway done.

Espanola got one of those back at 13:46 however on Lavigne’s first of the game to make it 4-2 after 40 minutes.

The home side then put the game away in the third with two more tallies as Connor Tessier collected his first in the NOJHL at 4:29 while Lavigne rounded out the scoring with a shorthanded effort 10 minutes later.

The Express outshot the Rapids 50-22 in the contest with Logan Sawka picking up the win and Scott Adams the loss.
